The Healthcare Issue

It was reported that the "Blue Dog" Democrats reached a deal with the Democrat leadership on HR3200.

It was reported today that many liberal democrats are lining up against the deal. The Congressional Black Caucus, the Progressive Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are coming out against the deal.

This new initiative by the liberals encourages me. If the Democrats can not come together on this, then it is likely doomed for failure by the very party that wants it. The Republicans are being courted now but I hope they can not be swayed. Most will not be but it is the RINO's I am worried about.

Join me in a letter writing and phone call campaign to our Senators and Congressmen and tell them to abandon this debacle.

The only healthcare reform we need is to outlaw insurance companies from discriminating against patients with so-called "pre-existing conditions" and outlaw HMO's and stay with PPO's, lower the deductibles that patients have to pay and stop restricting hospitals from collecting for treatments provided to illegal aliens. One more item of reform is to outlaw insurance companies from owning more than 10% of a single hospital. Seems to me this is a serious conflict of interest.

July 4, 2009 - Our Nations 233rd Birthday

North Korea
North Korea launched a series of missiles. On this day, July 4, 2009 with the intent of defying the United States by doing so on the celebrated birth of the US, Kim Il sung has decided to test fire a series of missiles. The United States' response is to urge calm. This is ridiculous. They not only defy us on our national birthday, they illegally hold two US journalists in prison after extracting a false confession from them. The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, DPRK, does not value the freedom of the press the way the United States and all true democratic and free nations do. The DPRK only sees strengths and weaknesses. The weak response by the US and UN are seen as encouraging to the North Koreans. Japan and South Korea are at least responding with strong rhetoric. If we can't stand up to this tin-hat regime, at least we can count on the Japanese and South Koreans to do so.

America's Decline to Socialism
President Obama has not only put us on a definitive track to socialism, he is enforcing it on other nations. He has called for the reinstatement of Manuel Zelaya, the duly elected leader of Honduras. That in and of itself, does not seem a socialistic view, excepting the fact that Zelaya wanted to stay on office past the Honduran Constitutional term limits and Obama is supporting him. The Coup that deposed him seems more interested in rule of law and supporting the Constitution than the OAS, Venzuelan President Hugo Chavez and US President Barack Obama. Makes you wonder more about Obama's true motivation for supporting Cuba's return to the OAS. It really makes you wonder what does Obama think of our own Constitutional term limits. Some view this as Obama's attempt to subvert the US Constitution again. In his first six months, he has already shown such discontent for the founding document.

Obama's 4th of July Address
Obama called for America to return to the spirit of July 4, 1776. Then he called on the US to continue to work for a better America. His idea of a better America is a Socialist America. The spirit of 1776 was that of freedom, self determination of ones own destiny, personal responsibility and no taxation without representation. There was nothing in any of the founding documents about socialized medicine, government owned companies or supporting despots. With his poll numbers dropping, I am hoping it will be the beginning of the end of the Obama Administration. It is my sincere desire that he will fail in his bid for a second term.
